Please explain profit vs. revenue to me.

💰 Revenue = ALL the money that comes in.
That’s it.
Before bills.
Before expenses.
Before taxes.
Just the total amount you receive.
Think of it like your paycheck before anything gets taken out.
Example:
You sell $1,000 worth of content packages.
Your revenue = $1,000.

🧾 Profit = The money you get to KEEP after paying all expenses.
This is the real number that matters.
Profit shows whether your business is actually making money or just… existing.
Profit formula:
Profit = Revenue – Expenses
Example:
Revenue: $1,000
Expenses: $300 (software, shipping, lighting, props, etc.)
Profit = $700
So you brought in $1,000 but you kept $700.

Quick way to think of it:
Revenue = the whole cake
Profit = the slice you get to eat
Expenses = everything that gets cut out before you eat

As a content creator, your common expenses might be:
Phone tripod
Ring light
Canva Pro
Audio subscription
Props
Shipping
Editing apps
Business software
Taxes (yes… sadly 🥲)
